Well the last time I blogged, I talked about starting school. It's now July and school has been over for almost 2 months. I had such a wonderful semester! I met awesome new people and made Dean's list again (hey, it feels good when you do well!) It was a tough semester but I'm sure it'll seem like a piece of cake once this next semester starts (senior year). I'll be doing 2 full days of student teaching. I'm so used to co-teaching that I'm a nervous wreck to do it on my own! haha. No choice but to push through and do well!

So what have I been up to over the last 5 months?

In February, it was cold and winter was hanging around for a while. M and I celebrated Valentine's day with dinner.

March, crazy month with school so I don't think much fun was had, haha.

April, school was in full force (thank goodness for friends who are going through the same exact thing and keep you sane during it all!) We even got to take a trip to the aquarium (the joys of being an elem. ed major haha)

May - this month couldn't come soon enough. It was the end of the semester! Finals were intense but once they were over, I could breathe a sigh of relief!

Not sure why I don't have ANY pictures from May until now, but I'm sad about it! I didn't take pictures of my mom's or Matt's bday, the pictures that I took from when I went to the beach are on my broken phone (dropped it down the steps, but hey, now I have the white iPhone so it was worth it! haha), and no pics from the 4th of July. Waaa.

Fast forward to now - summer has been good so far.. I work everyday but I babysit and take the kiddos to the pool so it's fun :) I better enjoy it now while I can haha. Lately we've been under a MASSIVE heat wave though! I'm sure you girls down south can relate. I checked the weather on my phone today and saw this.. unbelievable: Look at the "FEELS LIKE" temp.. how is that possible in Maryland?! So gross.

School starts for me in a little more than 3 weeks (I start when the teachers do) so I'm trying to relax as much as I can.. I'm placed at a school that is 5 min from the bf's house so it's pretty convenient.

On another note, went to the doctor today for a check up and noticed that I have gained 5 lbs in a year! Wth?! This past year was stressful though. I need to get motivated and get back to where I was. Does anyone know of great workout dvd's? It's more convenient to work out at my house than drive 20 some min. to the gym (i do have a membership though, just completely out of the way)

Leaving tomorrow for the beach! I'll be back Monday though. Have a fun weekend :)

Hi! Has it really been 5 months since I've blogged last?! How pathetic on my part. To my followers/readers out there, if I still have any.. sorry I've been MIA for so long! I sure have missed blogging but it was a nice break and sometimes, life just happens and you get so side tracked by everything else. School has started.

So I'm sure you know what that means.. less time for blogging :(

So this past weekend, M and I went to a gala for his work. We had such a great time. Free food and open bar with lots of friends there as well. I actually ran into someone I went to elementary school with - small world!

This is only the 2nd time I've worn it so I figured it was okay :)

Then Monday came and it was time to go to school. I went to the gym in the morning like I said I would and actually felt great doing it! But at 3 o'clock, I was exhausted. I actually went to bed that night at 8:30, haha.

As for my classes, I'm taking Physical Science, a comp. class, Bio, concepts of math class (which I think I'll love because my teacher is amazing), Math internship and science internship. I start my math internship on Tuesday and I'm excited for that. I'll be in 2nd grade this semester!

My days are long and my professors have already loaded up the work for us but I know I'll make it through. It's all about balance. However, blogging does fall to the back burner. As much as I love it, school is my #1 priority right now. I'd like to make Dean's list again this semester :)

This weekend is the Super Bowl. Not to sure what we're doing yet though, or who I'm rooting for. Do I want the Steelers to win because they beat the Raven's? Or the Packers because the Steeler's have won too many times? Who are you rooting for if you're going to watch it?

I finally got my 3 free nail polishs in the mail (less s&h) thanks to Katie! I love the colors and can't wait to paint my nails :)

What I'm Loving Today . . .

1. I'm loving that Jamie does this every week. It really lets me reflect on the good, instead of the bad or things I could complain about :) So thanks, Jamie!

2. I'm loving that today is a snow day! We (Maryland) have really missed A LOT of snow storms this winter! (probably because we got enough last winter to last us for 5 future winters, haha) After this storm is over, we should have about 6-9 inches. I've been lounging all day and I'm taking FULL advantage of it because school starts this coming Monday! Yikes. Free time = GONE!

3. I'm loving how long my hair is getting. However, I'm not loving how thin it has been feeling lately. I've been thinking of getting thickening shampoo and conditioner, but I'm not sure what kind to get. Any recommendations? Help a girl out! Yes, my hair is important to me, haha :)

4. I'm not loving that school starts Monday BUT I am loving that I'll be back on a consistent schedule and will be able to get to the gym the same time most days as well as eat meals at consistent times. Life just flows better when you're on a schedule.. or maybe that's just my OCD saying so, haha.

5. I'm loving that I just found out that the lady I used to nanny for (about 3 years ago), is M's Mom's cousin. Talk about a small, small world! (they just reunited which is why I just found out)

6. I'm loving that Liz gave me a little acknowledgement :) She is too sweet. Thank you again! It made my day!

I'd like to pass this on to Caroline @ A Life of Color because she deserves it. She always leaves me the most thoughtful and sweet comments and has become a good blog friend :) I could surely name other bloggers who deserve this as well so don't think that I don't appreciate each of you! xox

Top 2 Tuesday - Healthy Snacks

Today's Top 2 Tuesday is all about healthy snacks. This is pretty easy for me since I live in a household where healthy eating is a priority. Of course, we still have snacks and things such as pizza, but we have healthier options. I could write a whole list of healthy snacks, but I'll only post my favorite 2.

1. Fat Free Yogart (Light & Fit) and Kashi Cereal.

I eat this yogart with a half cup of this cereal (serving size). I put a little bit of the cereal into each bite. It is SO delicious. In a half cup of this cereal is 60 calories and 14 grams of fiber. The cereal doesn't look yummy, but I promise it is! Plus, it's so healthy and full of great things! (Protein & Fiber)

total carlories of this snack = 140 and SO filling.

You will be filled for at least 2 hours.

2. Kashi GoLean Crunchy Bars

When school starts again (next week, ahh!) I'm on the go; a lot. I don't always have time to eat a warm, healthy lunch or snack so I carry these with me. This and a bottle of water definitely holds me over. Chocolate peanut butter is my favorite. It has 9 grams of protein, 6 grams of fiber and only 180 calories. These bars make you thirsty so a bottle of water is a must!

It's Monday. And bitterly cold. So here's to me rambling.

1. It was FREEZING this weekend. I mean a high of 15 degrees. (sorry to those who are suffering with FAR worse temps.) Totally not normal for MD though. I could hibernate and honestly be happy. Me and cold weather do not like each other. I did go out for dinner and drinks on Saturday night though with M. However, I felt like Randy from the movie A Christmas Story because I was SO bundled up.

2. We watched the playoffs yesterday. Glad to see the Packers win; Steelers, egh not so much. I was rooting for the Jets since the Steelers have 2 Superbowl rings in the past 6 years. I mean, isn't it time for someone else to win? M was happy though because his dad is a BIG Steelers fan.

3. As of next Monday, I will be one busy bee. Here's how the schedule is looking:

Mon: Gym: 7:30 AM - 9AM

Class: 10AM - 4:20PM

Tues: Class: 8:30AM - 3:40 PM

Gym: 4 PM

Wed: Same as Monday

Thurs: Gym: 9AM - 10:30AM

Class: 12:30PM - 4:20PM

Fri: Work and gym (until my boss doesn't work anymore. then this will become a homework day)

(Parking is TERRIBLE at school so I have to get there with enough time to get lucky and get a spot or stalk someone to take their spot. It's so annoying)

Not too too bad. I have two internships and the rest are classes (all math & science, yuck.)

4. M and I have a gala to go to this weekend. I'm quite excited for it :) We get to dress up!

5. I just started reading the book Perfect Match by Jodi Picoult. I've never read any of her books before but my boss gave me about 5. So far, I'm really into it. I'm hoping I finish it before school starts. I know she wrote My Sister's Keeper. I didn't read that but I saw the movie and cried like a baby, haha. Have any of you read this book by her or others?

Really. There is no other way to put it. My boss told me the other day that she will be quitting her job to stay home with the kids. While I think this is awesome for her, it's not so much for me. To be a stay-at-home mom would bring her so much joy. She is an amazing mother and her kids deserve that. Her last day will be some time in March. This semester I would only be working for her one day anyway because I am taking 18 credits but she would be using me 2 or 3 days this summer.

But to be honest, I could CARE LESS about the money or the job. I've come to love these children like their my own. I absolutely adore them, as well as my boss and her husband. I've had plenty of jobs in the past and have nannied for families before, but this is just different. This is like my second family.

2 1/2 years ago when I was job searching, it never crossed my mind that I would find a family like them. They welcomed me with open arms from day one and bend over backwards to make sure I am happy. From the times of paying me extra "just because" or picking me up something because they know I would like it. To say that they make me feel appreciated would be an understatement. It makes me sad to think that I won't see them every week like I do now. Yes, I know I can go visit because they live close, but it's just not the same. My boss has told me that I will be the first they call to watch the kids if they need a sitter and I am welcome over anytime I want. It's just that I am so used to seeing them every week and taking care of the girls that I am going to miss them.

This will be a sad time for everyone involved, but I will make sure I visit them, even if it's just twice a month, because it's not fair to M and A that I stop coming around just because they're mom isn't working anymore. To disappear from a child's life like that isn't good for them. These little girls are my heart.

But this isn't goodbye.. change is never easy though.

1. Safe Haven

BY FAR, the BEST Nicholas Sparks' book I have ever read. I read this book in 3 days. If you love Lifetime Movies, you will LOVE this book. It's unlike anything he has ever written. I stayed up wayyy past my bedtime to finish it :)

The book gives this description:

When a mysterious young woman named Katie appears in the small North Carolina town of Southport, her sudden arrival raises questions about her past. 2. Over due Massage

This Friday, I'm going to get a one-hour massage that my boss bought me for Christmas :) I am so excited and cannot wait. It's been a year since I've had one! I wish I could afford to have a custom massage every month.

3. Baseball

I just found out that M & I will be going to the opening day game of the Orioles! He bought us tickets in a great section. I am so excited for this because I've never been. It's a huge outing for the entire city :) I just hope the weather behaves because some years it has snowed while others it's been sunny and warm. It's in the 1st week of April so I'm hoping it's warm out!

It's Top 2 Tuesday Time

Today's Top 2 Tuesday is Top 2 Strange Addictions.

I don't think I have any strange "addictions"

but I do have some strange habits.

1. Chapstick & Water

I must put chapstick on before bed EVERY night. If I don't, I honestly cannot sleep. My lips feel naked without it, haha. I use it throughout the day as well but it must go on before bed. I also have to sleep with a water bottle right next to my bed on the floor. For some odd reason, I become extremely thirsty throughout the night. It happens after I brush my teeth. I think it's strange that this happens but having water next to me solves the problem.

2. Pillows

As of right now, I have 5 full size pillows and one small pillow on my bed. And yes, I sleep with all of them. I have to hold at least one pillow while I'm sleeping too. Whenever I stay at a hotel, I have to go to the front desk and ask for more because there are never enough on the bed. The more the better :) I just like being comfy.

Other strange habits:

- The volume on the TV and radio have to be on an even number.

- When I'm on a cardio machine, I have to burn an even number of calories, it cannot be 514 or anything like that. I drive myself crazy over it haha.

- Putting lotion on my hands right after I wash them.

- Making sure all doors are closed and locked before sleeping.

- The blinds have to closed a certain way.

- Having a diet coke once a day :) Bad, I know.

Weekend.

Every winter, it seems like my weekends are always so laid back. Friday night, I literally did nothing but relax and paint my nails, haha. It was so cold though and who wants to go out in that? Not me. I think when I get older, I'm going to invest in a beach house, possibly in Hawaii or something to escape this cold. I'm just not cut out for it.

On Saturday, I went to the gym and picked up a bunch of pictures from Ritz. Getting pictures developed really is expensive! I'm in the middle of transferring all of my pictures, including loose ones, into new photo albums. They are just so disorganized and need to be taken care of. Later that night, I had to babysit the little girls I watch during the week. I told my boss I would watch the girls for free as a Christmas present because she and her husband also had a gift card to a very nice restaurant. They had a wonderful, free night out :)

On Sunday, M had a basketball at 8 AM. Talk about early! He plays on a local league just for fun. After that, we came home and relaxed for a little while before we went to our friends house to watch the Raven's game. Of course, M wore his Redskins jersey haha. I'm glad the Raven's won. They have a tough game ahead of them though against the Steelers.

Today, I'm off but I'm off every Monday. School starts soon so I'm soaking up all of my free time while I can :)

Tomorrow we're supposed to get some snow, about 2 inches or so, which is basically enough to cause a mess haha. NOTHING compared to last year though, thankfully. We have really dodged some snow storms this winter so I'm fine with 2 inches.

New Year's Recap

New Year's was wonderful! For the first time in our relationship, M and I spent the evening with just each other. Usually we hang out with a group and go out the bars or a party. This year, he surprised me with a romantic dinner at an amazing Italian restaurant in the city! I didn't know where we were going until we got there. He really has been too sweet :)

Our dinner was delicious - M ordered Penne with vodka sauce and grilled chicken and I ordered Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken. It also came with house salads and warm bread. Yum!

After dinner, we came back to my house to watch the fireworks on TV and celebrate with some more wine and noise makers :)

The next day, Jan 1st, was my dad's 50th birthday. My stepmom invited family over for dinner and cake. My dad didn't want anything big because he didn't want to turn 50 haha. But who would!?

Christmas Recap

Is it just me, or did Christmas come and go faster than you can blink?? I know I spent time shopping and wrapping gifts, but I can't believe it's already January!

Christmas this year was great. On Christmas Eve, I went over my dad's to visit and watch It's a Wonderful Life with him and my step mom. I've never seen the movie but I actually liked it.

On Christmas morning, my brother D and I always go to my dad's to open presents early, about 7:30 AM because our brother B is still young and wakes up early. Plus, he still believes in Santa so he is always excited to see what Santa has brought him. We've had this routine since B was born. Doesn't make my mom too happy though because she doesn't see us until 10 AM in the morning on Christmas.

(This is my ALL TIME favorite movie in the world.

I could recite it word for word haha)

My brother and I got to my mom's around 9:30. (This is why I went to my dad's on Christmas Eve so that I could spend more time with them since I knew I would be leaving early Christmas morning.) She was ready and waiting for us to open our gifts. My mom and her fiance spoil us to pieces but I am more than grateful and she knows that. I always tell her to stop buying me so much though! haha.

I went over M's house around 1 that afternoon. This was the first time in our relationship I have been to his house on Christmas. Crazy, I know, but usually he comes over my house. It was nice going there though. His mom had a ton of food and I enjoyed spending time with his family. I also was able to give them the gifts I had bought for them. M was so sweet and got me an beautiful Coach watch. I am in love with it! He has great taste :)

Overall, my Christmas was wonderful. I got to spend time with all of my family and that's what matters most to me. Seeing them smile when opening the gifts I gave them is what makes me happy. Not the gifts I receive. I always tell my mom I'd be happy with one gift, and that's the absolute truth. In NO WAY, am I boasting or bragging about what I received. I just want to remember for the future. I hope that everyone was able to spend time with their family over the holiday and that Santa did give you a little something :)

I swear I'm not lying. First, I want to say that I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

I know I posted like a month ago that I was going to give an update, but I swear that life gets in the way. Oh yea, if you EVER plan on taking a break from blogging, take my word for it and DON'T DO IT! It is so hard to get back into it. I made a promise to myself to post what I've been up to, not only for you ladies who care about what I've been doing, but also for myself so I can remember what I did. Soo, where do I even start?!

By the way, I plan on clearing out my reader and starting from tomorrow because there is no way in the world to read everyone's posts from the months of November and December - I would go insane! I apologize and hope you ladies had great things happening then.

I finished my first semester of the Elementary Education Program with 3 A's and 2 B's. I was proud of myself :-) When the semester was over, the girls in my cohort had a little Christmas party and played secret Santa. There were only about 12 of us there but we had a blast.

Also in December, I went with my family (minus my 2 other brothers) to see the lighting of the community Christmas tree. It's literally 2 minutes down the street and afterwards, they serve cookies and hot chocolate in a restored home. It's cute and my little brother enjoys watching it light up.

Matt and I went to his aunt's mom's 60th birthday. We only planned on staying for about an hour, but we made a night out of it and had a blast hanging out with the oldies :) haha. The food was amazing and the music was fun to dance to. A random but fun night.

so he is cheesin' way too hard and

my face looks like I swallowed an elephant.

I could really use a tan as well.

Whatever.

I've also gotten back into the gym, not that I ever stopped but I have stepped my game up, haha. I gained about 3 lbs. during the semester. I know it was from stress and I'm determined to get it off. I even bought some cute new workout clothes today to get me going :-) Folled over yoga pants and tanks from Old Navy. I love their workout clothes.

My old phone, the LG Dare, died on me about a month ago and I finally became a big girl and got myself a smart phone :) The Droid Incredible. Basically, the same thing as an iPhone except from Verizon. (so my brother says who has the iPhone) I love it and all of the free apps :) Oh, and it didn't hurt that I got it for FREE when Best Buy was having a special. Thanks BB!!

Only 3 weeks of school left!

Thank the high heavens :-)

I am jumping with joy.

However, I have quite a few BIG assignments

left so I can't celebrate just yet.

It's looking like I should be getting all A's in each class :)

On Saturday, M & I went with some friends to Delaware park
which is a casino about 1 1/2 hours away. I've never been
before but we had so much fun! Didn't end up loosing too much
money even after being there for 7 hours! I'm sure we'll be
going again sometime in the future! Sorry no pictures :(

Yesterday I celebrated my grandpop's 75th birthday!

My family all went to his house for dinner and cake.
He was so happy to have everyone there. He lives

by himself so he gets quite lonely sometimes.

I kid you not, my pop looks the same as he did

20 some years ago! I hope I age just as gracefully :)

I've really been in to painting my nails lately.
I'm a big time nail biter so having them painted

helps me to stop :) Ulta was having a deal on nail polish;

buy 1 get on free. So I got 4 polishes for $10! :)
Can't beat that and I think they're just as good as Essie.

Right now I'm wearing Chocolate Bliss

I think it's really pretty :)

So since I haven't blogged since basically the end of September, here's what's been going on in my life...

School

It's been nuts. There isn't a day that I don't have something to do for it. I honestly feel like we have the same amount of work as nursing students. The school I go to though does have the best education program in the state, which could explain why so much is expected from me. I cannot wait until Thanksgiving and Christmas break! I need a vacation big time.

Other than that, I haven't been up to much. My weekends consist of homework and watching football on Sunday's with the boy and friends. Fall is definitely here. I had frost on my windshield this morning. Life is a little hectic right now but good for sure :)

I hope you ladies are doing amazing! I'm sorry I haven't been commenting on any blogs but I'm sure you understand. Just wanted to let everyone know I'm alive and haven't fallen off the face of the earth because I know how worried you all have been (sarcasm). I hope to get around to reading blogs sooner than later! I miss you all and I promise to be back to regular blogging as soon as school lets me breathe for a minute :) For those of you who have stuck around, thank you! It sure does mean a lot.

But I am officially taking a blogging break.

I haven't blogged in about 2 weeks and

I have about 500+ blogs to read in blogger.

School has gotten the best of me.

It takes up 80% of my time.

In the other 20% of time, I'm with my

family or bf trying to have some sort of social life.

It's important that I focus on school though.

I don't know how long this break will last.

I'm hoping not too long.

If I get the chance to catch up on blogs,

trust me, I will. I miss all of you!

I promise I will be back when this semester is over though!

Not only do I love watching it every weekend, but I love the league M and I are playing in. I played my 1st game last weekend (it's 2 hand touch) and had the best time! A bunch of us from our team went out afterward to the bars the sponsor us for some food and drinks. My legs were pretty sore the next day but it was too fun not to play again :) Can't wait for this Saturday's game!

After reading over my last post, I sounded like I was pouting and not happy. I'm the last one to have a pity party for myself. But you ladies didn't think like that. One day at a time!

So turning 24 last Thursday, 9/16, was a tad difficult for me. I'm far from being on the same path as other 24 year olds. Some are living on their own, engaged, married, mommies, working in their field they chose in college, etc.

Me? I still live at home because lets be honest, I can't afford not to while going to school. I'm not engaged although I do have a boyfriend. I'm a mommy to a dog, not a baby but that's okay with me because I don't want kids ANY time soon. I'm still in college. It's actually tough for me to type these things out. I feel like I "bloomed" much later than others.

After high school, I worked for 2 years. I wasn't sure what direction I wanted to go in and my parents really didn't have the money for me to go away to school and waste it on my confusion. So when I was 20, I decided to attend community college with my mind heading towards being a nurse. I started taking all of my gen. ed. classes. After doing that for 2 semesters, my younger brother cut his finger pretty bad at work (cleaning the meat slicer at a local grocery store) and I saw the blood and almost passed out. We went to the hospital and I knew at that time there would be no way for me to survive nursing school if I can't handle seeing blood. I decided to switch to early childhood education. Did that for a semester then switched to elementary because there are more grades you are able to teach. When you switch majors, the gen. ed classes switch so I had to take different classes. That leads us to today. I'm finally at a university in a screened program on my way to becoming a teacher. 3 more semesters to go and I'll be certified. I feel like the moment will never come.

I guess not every one who is the same age is at the same spot in life. I should give myself a break. At least I am going to college to pursue a degree, I work, I have a loving bf, an extremely supportive family, caring friends and a loving home.

Okay, now that I got that off my chest.. I didn't do much for my birthday. Thursday was my birthday. It was raining and just plain crappy out. I had class all day. My mom is too cute though and just had to bring home balloons and cake and have a family dinner.

After dinner, mom and I went to get manicures and pedicures.

I got the deluxe spa pedicure - way better than a normal one!

On Friday, M took me to dinner at Bahama Breeze. I didn't want anything fancy and this was perfect. Dinner was delicious and so was my glass of Sangria :) I don't know why I didn't take any pictures. Terrible. After dinner, we went shopping for me then spent the night with just the two of us. Perfect birthday present :)

Something special that happened during my birthday weekend was that my amazing grandparents celebrated being married for 50 years :) It's so cute too because my pop is the ONLY man my grand-mom has ever been with! I just love them. My whole family (M and brother's gf too), including aunt, uncles, cousin, my grandpop's two brother and their wives, went to a nice, Italian restaurant to celebrate. They were so happy to have everyone there.

Hi! Remember me? Probably not haha. Seriously - I miss you all! I don't get to have my daily fix of blogging anymore because school has been keeping me crazy busy aka taken over my life. Ahhh! Today, I turn the wonderful age of 24.

It's bittersweet to me because its another year away from being young & carefree but I also can't wait for the years ahead of me to see what life brings.

In my 23 years of living, I've learned and experienced so many different things; from losing loved ones and gaining new loved ones, ending friendships and starting new friendships, going to college and following my heart. I could list so many things life has taught me in these short 23 years but I know I have many more things to learn.

Here's to being 24 & making the most of it! :)

1. The Changing Temperatures and scenery

When the temperatures change, it's like a sigh of relief! We have had a terribly hot summer here in MD. I love when the weather is in the 70's with a breeze. It gives me a chance to open the windows and let the fresh air come in! I love how it smells and I think it feels better than having the A/C on. I think it's so pretty when the leaves change colors on the trees. It's already started happening :)

2. Halloween & candles!

(okay, so I cheated!)

I love Halloween and all the things that come with it. The haunted houses, even though I'm a big chicken!, the Halloween parties, pumpkin picking, hay rides, getting apple cider at the pumpkin patch, etc. So fun!

Just a little update

Wow, when's the last time I blogged? A week ago? Pathetic. Life gets in the way though, I'm sure you understand.

I haven't been up to anything crazy or fun though so don't worry, I'm not leaving you out by not updating! Monday, Tuesday & Thursday, I'm at school and Wednesday and Friday, I'm working, so nothing spectacular goes on then.

This past weekend M & I went to two baseball games. Saturday night we went with people on our football team and had a blast. We went to the local bars afterward. On Sunday, we went to the afternoon game. The weather was amazing both times. However, this day was a tad different because Felix Pie decided to throw the ball to the fans in the stand and instead of someone catching it, it bounced out of their hands and hit me in the head! and then rolled down and a little boy stole it from me. Too bad ESPN didn't catch it on TV. I had a headache for the rest of the night. Go figure. We had fun regardless.

Today is Labor Day. For some reason, no one in my family is having a cookout! What a disappointment. That's okay though because I have a lot of school work to get done for classes tomorrow.

The next two weeks are going to be pretty busy..

I have a ton of work to get done.

This weekend is our first co-ed football game. I don't even know if M will be able to go because he may have to work :(

Then next Thursday is my birthday and I start my internship.

Friday is my little brothers birthday; he turns 8.

Saturday is my grandparent's 50th anniversary. That day I have a football game at 4 but can't go because of my grandparents' anniversary dinner at 3. My brother's birthday party is at 5 at Chuck E Cheese's but I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it :( That night I think M is taking me out for my birthday.

Then Sunday my dad and step-mom are having a combined family party for my brother & I. Ahhh so busy!

Hope everyone is doing great! So glad fall is making it's way here! Some leaves are already changing :) The weather has been beautiful as well.

Top 2 Favorite US Cities

To be honest, I really haven't been to THAT many cities so my choices are limited. For some reason, I think my family just liked going to familiar places when I was younger so we never got to experience different parts of the country. I'd love to travel once I finish school.

With that being said, I'm going to name a top city I've been to and a city that I'd like to visit :) I'm cheating, I know, but sometimes the rules are meant to be broken haha. Sorry Tay!

I have SO many great memories of this place. Memories of family vacations, going to dinner and playing putt putt. Memories of vacations with friends partying the nights away. I've been going here since I was 2 years old. My summer feels incomplete if I don't go at least once. It's such a little town that's about 9 miles long but it gets pretty crowded in the summer. If you ever visit Maryland's Eastern Shore, be sure to check it out! :)

So summer is over, at least on my schedule. School started for me last Thursday. So far so good. I still have two classes that I need to attend tomorrow. Hopefully they'll go just as well. I start an internship on September 16, which just so happens to be my BIRTHDAY. I'm hoping I'll be placed in a 1st grade room. I'll find out in the coming days which grade I'll be interning in.

Didn't do too much this weekend. On Saturday, M and I went to a cook out during the day and then just hung out at my house on Saturday night. We're such parties I tell you. Sunday we went to this place on the water which is basically an in-ground pool with a bar. I didn't have to drive so I was able to indulge in some Orange Crushes aka one of my favorite drinks ;-) So yummy. These past couple of days have been so hot! I mean it's almost September and it's still in the 90's! (Today was 95, yuck)

I just thought I'd recap on some of the fun things I did this summer. However, I'm quite upset that M and I didn't go on a vacation together! We have the past 3 yrs but with him starting a new job, it just wasn't possible. Hopefully we can go somewhere this fall.

Speaking of fall, I signed up for a coed football team! Ahhh, basically, M made me do it haha. It's just 2 hand touch and it starts Saturday, 9/11. I'm nervous but I'm sure it'll be fun. The local bars sponsor us to play and as a treat, we get free happy hours there sometimes and drink specials :) There's about 12 people on each team so it'll be a good time!

I also did other fun things this month but I just didn't take pictures or blog about it. Other then that, I've been working.

But winter, if you come early and rear your ugly head like you did last year, I will be one UNHAPPY girl! Stay far far away :)

If You Really Knew Me . . .

I'm jumping on the bandwagon that Leslie at A Blonde Ambition started :) It is similar to the TV show If You Really Knew Me. I have watched the show a few times and I think it's great that it's on TV :)

I figured that if these high school students could bare all to their fellow classmates as well as the world, I could at least let my guard down to the blogging world. So here it goes. Some thing may be a little personal but really, what do I have to hide? If they can do it, I can too.

Unlike Leslie's who's was fun and light-hearted, mine may be a tad more serious.

So . . . If you really knew me:

You'd know that I still live in the same town I grew up in. I sometimes wish I could just pack up and move away. I want to experience other places and cultures. It could be anywhere, on a farm, in the city, near a desert. I just want to know what it's like to live outside of Maryland and outside of a suburban neighborhood.

You'd know that I come from a divorced family. My parents seperated at the end of my 7th grade year and divorced when I was in the 8th grade. In 9th grade, my dad sold our home and had a new one built for me, brother, dad's gf and her children. My mom rented a house down the street from our old one so we would still be near our friends. When my dad got married to my step-mom, the amount of tears that came down my face was ridiculous. I was happy for my dad but at the same time, I knew that was the end of my mom and dad. They would never be together again. We would never celebrate birthdays or special moments again. Our family was no more. I was bitter about it for quite sometime. But what 15 year old girl wouldn't be? Looking back, I know the fighting and unhappiness wasn't good for either of them. Had they not gotten divorced, I wouldn't have my little brother. I still wish they were together but things happen the way they're supposed to and I still have two AMAZING parents.

You'd know I can organize like it's nobody's business :) I'm simply amazing at it. Not to brag or anything. I can organize a closet, room, storage, you name it in probably an hour flat. Every thing WILL have a home. Seeing things out of place drives me nuts! If teaching falls through, I will open my own organizing business. An organized room is a happy room! :)

You'd know that I am self-conscious but put on a darn good act that I'm not. I walk around like I'm this girl who is so sure of herself while inside, I'm wondering what people are thinking of me. The first day of school always makes me nervous because I want to make the best impression possible and always wonder what people think. Drives me nuts!

You'd know that I have a huge heart for animals. Seeing one hurt or homeless breaks my heart. Today at work, a cat came to the door and was meowing over and over. I gave him soon food to keep him around until the shelter opened. Sadly, he left and I haven't seen him. I hope he's okay.

You'd know that I donate to the USO at least twice a year because I have so much respect for the men and women who serve our country. They are MUCH braver that I will ever be. To leave your family and put your life on the line for something you believe in is heroic to me.

You'd know I'm TERRIFIED of bugs. Actually, saying I'm terrified is putting it lightly. All bugs, especially unknown ones. They freak me out! I can't kill them either because I can't stand to hear the crunching sound. I like lady bugs and butterflies though. That's it.

You'd know I'm a thrifty shopper. I can't imagine paying a large amount of money for a piece of clothing. I'm not sure what it is but I can't bring myself to do it. Shopping makes me very happy so I like to get my money's worth :)

You'd know I love reading quotes. My home web page is set to www.holliesquotes.com. She has a quote of the day page along with hundreds of pages filled with quotes ranging from love (sad, happy, misc.), life, movies, music, and friendship. It's awesome. Quotes are so inspirational and as her page says "Quotes get you through the days you think no one knows what you're going through."

Hi! Happy Thursday. Things going through my mind lately:

Today is exactly ONE week until classes resume! Ahh, I'm nervous because I start the elementary education program this semester. I'm excited that I'll be taking all education classes instead of BS classes but at the same time, this means I'm one step closer to the real world and that scares me! haha. I'll still be working 2 days a week so I can imagine I'm going to have way less free time which sucks. I have to figure out a way to manage school, work, exercise and M. This is the first time that I will be in school and M will be home. When he was at school, I would have all week to get all of my work done and see him all weekend. Well now that he's home, I'm going to have to find a way to balance every thing. I think it's possible though since he works long hours. I'll be sure to apologize in advance for not blogging/commenting as much :)

I received my new issue of Glamour in the mail. This always excites me because they have so many great beauty tips and new styles so I enjoy reading it. However, when I received it today, it was more like an encyclopedia! Haha, this thing is almost a half inch thick! It's their biggest issue in 20 years though. Might take me a day or two to get through (I never usually read it all at once.

There's less than a month until my birthday! (Sept. 16) I'm contemplating on not celebrating though because 24 seems SO scary and to be honest, I don't feel that old at all. I feel like I was just turning 19 or 20. Where is life going?! I need to start making a wish list of things I want ;-)

I'm ready for fall. The other night M and I were talking about things we want to do in the coming months and I was so excited about it.. Football games, pumpkin picking, Halloween, Thanksgiving, etc. He has never been home for these things so it's sort of all new to me :) I can't wait for the fall candles to come out either. Spiced Pumpkin by Yankee Candle is my favorite! Love. I also can't wait to drink hot chocolates in my cozy fall clothes :) It's so pretty here during the fall because of all the trees changing colors. I can however wait for winter! I loathe it. Yuck!!

Lauren is my girl crush haha.

2. Allie Hamilton from The Notebook

First, I love Nicholas Sparks. All of his books are so romantic and I enjoy reading each one. To me, The Notebook is the epitome of a love story. Could Allie and Noah be ANY cuter? Noah is madly in love with her and it melts my heart. She has it made! I also love the clothes and the way people carry themselves from this time period. Life seems so simple and you actually have to interact with people face to face (no internet/social networking/etc.)

This past Thursday, I went to my first ever football game! I can't believe I've never been to one before. It's probably because during the past 4 football seasons, M has been away at school during that time and it wasn't possible to go to one. It was the first pre-season Raven's game. M is FAR from a Raven's fan. Yes, he's from MD but just doesn't like them. Please, no hate mail! haha. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion :) I love him regardless. Besides that, he LOVES football and we had such a great time!

We were only able to stay until the 3rd quarter because it started to down pour! Luckily I had brought an umbrella and we were able to wait under a bridge for the light rail. It was a bad storm! We made it home safe though.

And yes, the Raven's beat the Panthers :)

I like doing this because I feel like it gives you a better idea of who I am :)

{one} how would you describe your style?

hmm...I'd say classy/preppy/girly. I love to wear cute flats and nice shirts and jeans. I shop at all different places though so I'm not sure how to describe it? In the summer, I wear flip flops or wedges, sun dresses, skirts, shorts and such. In the fall/winter, I wear flats, jeans, cute tops, and my coat is usually a peacoat. I love scarfs too. I don't know lol. But I also love wearing Uggs (who says they aren't in style anymore - it gets cold in MD and my toes freeze!) comfy pants and hoodies.

{two} what would your perfect day look like?

With M: We would wake up on an island with crystal blue water and white sands. We'd have breakfast brought to us in bed with a cool breeze blowing in off the water. For the day, we would get snorkeling lessons or swim with the dolphins. After that, we'd relax in the pool with a yummy drink in hand that we ordered from the swim up bar. For the night, we'd go to an amazing restaurant and enjoy a romantic dinner outside listening to nothing but our conversation and the waves. After dinner, we'd head back to our hotel and enjoy each other's company. Please, can I just go live at the beach?!!?

With a friend: Wake up WITHOUT an alarm, shower, go to a nice lunch, go shopping, get a pedicure/manicure, make a yummy dinner with a glass of wine, then watch chick-flicks :)

{three} what would be the best workplace perk?
Oh gosh. I could go on and on. I absolutely LOVE my job. I'm a nanny for two families (sisters). I'm not just the nanny though. I'm the big sister (as my bosses say). The girls I watch are 2 and 3. Right now, I am only watching the 2 yr old though because the other mom is on maternity leave. When school starts, I'll be watching the 3 yr old and her new sister who is now 4 months old. My bosses are beyond amazing. I get the best birthday and Christmas gifts, time off if I ever need it, extra money in my checks sometime, they work around my school schedule and most of all, I get a friendship out them. I know when I have to quit and get a job as a teacher, I will definitely keep in touch and visit because it's not a job to me, it's an extended family. They're amazing!

{four} if you could have the starring role in one movie, which would it be?
Can I pick two? Clueless because it's so funny and I'd love to have Cher's closet or The Notebook because I love Nicholas Sparks and honestly, who wouldn't want to be Allie?! Perfect love story.

{five} what tv show do you wish would go off the air for good?

I'm agreeing with Leigh's answer ---> all of the love shows... rock of love, flava flave's, tila tequilla's... i do like the batchelor/batchelorette though.

{six} chocolate or vanilla?

For ice cream - Vanilla - with sprinkles please.
For candy - chocolate.

{seven} if you could date any celebrity, who would it be?
Assuming M wouldn't care, I'm going to have to say Jesse Metcalfe from Desperate Housewives. I think he's adorable.

{eight} if you could have been the author of any book, which would it have been?

Again - I'm agreeing with Leigh. --> well, i hear the lady that wrote the harry potter series just passed up oprah as richest woman, so i would say the harry potter series.

{nine} what's your favorite type of flower?

I think a lot of flowers are pretty.. orchids, stargazer lilies, hibiscus, and tulips.

{ten} what do you think is your most attractive feature?

I like my hair. I think I have a pretty smile/nice teeth. I like my eyes because they're a good size and change colors. I like them equally the same.

Probably blogger or gmail.

{two} what's the furthest you've ever travelled?

Mexico - M and I went there for my 21st birthday. Talk about a crazy trip - Delta airlines lost our luggage for a day and a half! :(

{three} what's your guilty pleasure tv show?

Oh geez - any reality tv!

{four} if you had to give up one favorite food, what would be the hardest?

Pizza - seriously, I could eat pizza every.single.day! I love it.

{five} if you could become any fictional character, who would you be?

I don't know, maybe a disney princess? Haha.

{six} what's your favorite season of the year?

I have two favorites - summer because of the beach, long sunny days, warm weather (minus the humidity), getting a sun tan! and fall because of the cool days, changing color of the leaves, halloween and thanksgiving, all of good smelling candles that come out, haha.

{seven} what's your biggest phobia?

BUGS!!!!! I'm not even exaggerating. I am PETRIFIED! Especially if I don't know what kind of bug it is. I can't kill them, someone has to do it for me. They're disgusting. I'm also pretty scared of dying. I don't like the unknown. And I'm claustrophobic.

{eight} would you rather swim in a pool or the ocean?

pool. Unless its the ocean in which I can see my feet and the pretty fish around me. I really want to go on vacation to somewhere with clear water.

Soccer Game on a Football Field kind of weekend.

This weekend, M&T Bank Stadium, where the Ravens usually play football, hosted an international soccer game. Over 70,000 people were expected to attend. This was great for Baltimore because it brought in a lot of money.

We were cheering for Inter Milan

The people we were with came prepared with a

beer pong table and the corn hole game. So fun.

My parents took us there because they didn't want anyone drinking and driving and of course, Snuggles came. My brother thought it would be funny to put her in a seat belt to keep her safe. She didn't seem to mind it at all haha.

Sunday, M and I were lazy and did nothing but go to the diner for brunch then came home and stayed in bed all day watching the movies "Are We There Yet?" and "Are We Done Yet?". Both kind of stupid but funny at the same time. Then we went back to his house for the night and watched Big Brother.

Have you ever heard of a Zedonk? No? Well, it's a hybrid.

A mix between a donkey and zebra. Look at this little cutie.

I love the stripes on her legs :)

Its sort of rare for donkeys and zebras to mate but it does happen occasionally. Her mother is a donkey & father is a zebra.

She was born at the Georgia Wildlife Pereserve.

Her name? Pippi Longstocking.

Fun-filled Weekend

Hi! This weekend was great. I was able to go to the beach for 2 nights with my family. This included my dad, step-mom, step-sis, step-bro, brother, his gf, and little brother. My step-bro left on Wednesday and my brother & his gf left Friday afternoon. Since I had to work and couldn't get off, I was only able to go for Friday, Saturday and came back Sunday.

I arrived in Ocean City around 12 o'clock. The drive is able 3 hours but since it was beautiful out, I didn't mind it. It allowed me to drive with the windows down and music up :)

(I was at a red-light. Don't worry)

As soon as I got there, we headed to the beach! I couldn't have asked for better beach weather. Sunny and about 90 degrees but a nice breeze was coming off of the ocean. I didn't take any pics at the beach this day though. Around 5, we all came back to the hotel to get showers. Of course I had to get pictures before we left:

For dinner, we headed to a restaurant on the water called The Angler. They had great food. While we were there, we saw the sun setting. So pretty.

After dinner, we decided to head to the boardwalk to do some people watching, shopping, ice cream eating and game playing.

Saturday

we woke up and of course, headed to the beach.

This time, I brought the camera.

The sand was SO hot this day, you probably could cook eggs on it.

The beach patrol said they were treating

people for 3rd degree burns on their feet.

I believe it too because I lost my flip flop in the sand

and had to stand on a cooler while my dad went back to grab it for me.

It's about a 40 minute drive from Ocean City.
We came here because they have a ton of shops,

NO sales tax, and things are less expensive.

We ate at an amazing place called Grotto Pizza.

Their pizza was delicious! They're only located in DE and PA.

If you're ever in either of these states, you must try it out!

Sunday
I left OC around 10 AM. I then headed to M's house because we were going to a baseball game. I'm not sure what we were thinking though because it was disgustingly hot out! My shirt was soaked from sweating (gross, I KNOW).

The game was put on hold during the 7th inning though because a terrible storm came through which brought lightening and thunder. We sat under the pavilion until the rain passed.

We had excellent seats!!

Sadly, we lost to the Twins in a 10-4 game. Better luck next time O's!

1. New Phone

I want this phone SO bad. It's the new Droid X by Motorola for Verizon. I've HEARD it's better than the iPhone 4 ;-) We will have to see though. It has all positive reviews on Werizon Wireless too. As soon as I find at least $200, I'll be getting it :)

2. A few different things . . .

- I need my hair done ($145).

- I need new clothes! Fall is coming and the jeans from last year are just too big. I need to go shopping. I'm thinking that since my birthday is less then 2 months away, I'll treat myself to a nice shopping spree.

- I'd like to get a new car. I drive A LOT so my car is out of warranty. It'll be 3 yrs old this coming March so I'm thinking I'll start looking around the new year.

- A new computer. Mine is retarded and has to stay plugged into the charger to work. It also takes forever to load after it's been turned off. I think I'll wait until after I finish school to get on though so I can start brand new.

Hey girls! I sure have missed you! I know I have still been able to comment on your posts (I sneak it at work) but I haven't had the time to write a blog post in over a week! Shame on me.

This weekend was relaxing.
Friday night I went over my dad's to spend time with them and have a pizza dinner. They have an amazing front porch so we sat on there most of the night and watched my little brother and the neighborhood kids play. It's nice sometimes not doing anything. I also played Wii with my little brother. Pointless though because he plays so much that I lost to him :( (we played the baseball game and he won 10-0! How embarrassing haha)

Saturday my mom and I went to one of my favorite stores - Ikea - love that place! I'll take one of everything, thank you :) I needed a bookcase/storage unit because I had no place to store, books, magazines, etc. This is what it looks like:

But imagine it turned vertically. Purchasing something from Ikea means you must put it together - luckily it only took about 20 something minutes and a screwdriver later :) I like it a lot. After Ikea, we went to lunch and shared a grilled chicken breast with crab meat on top of it. So good! Saturday night M and I went to the regular out door place but called it an early night because he had worked that morning.

Sunday M and I went to a place on the water for lunch and a yummy drink. I got a crab pretzel and he got shrimp salad. Delicious food. It was so nice thanks to a breeze coming off of the water.

Sorry but I forget to take pics AGAIN! :(

It was definitely a good weekend though. I hope yours was great too!

It finally rained this weekend.

Hey there. Can you believe it's already Tuesday? This is a random post and I should have participated in that Miscellany Monday blog carnival thing but I'm a procrastinator. What can I say? Let's pretend this was posted yesterday k? Sounds good.

Anyways, this past weekend was pretty good.

Friday, I only worked half a day :) I then did a little shopping (pair of jeans at ON for $9 - amazing!), went and got a mani/pedi with an old friend and headed to the gym. Not much went on Friday night because the weather gods finally blessed this dry state with some much needed rain. It continued to rain on Saturday until 7 at night. Talk about a flooded front yard.

Saturday, I literally did nothing but lay in my bed and guess what? I loved being lazy. Saturday night it was so cool and breezy out from the rain that M and I decided to go downtown to an outside restaurant for beer and food :) My kind of night! It felt like springtime - I loved it.

Sunday, we went to the pool. I guess since it rained SO much, these GINORMOUS japanese beetles were out! I am not kidding you when I say huge. They were bigger then the size of the quarter! They hover to the ground and sound like bumble bees on steriods. I think they might be blind or something because they fly around aimlessly and bump into you. I am petrified of bugs, not lie (I crashed my car because of a bee - don't ask) so just imagine me with a huge beach towel wrapped around me and my head dodging bugs running to the pool (they stayed clear of the water). M was so embarassed that he decided to walk much slower than me to the pool. I was smart though because they decided to bother and land on him :) Haha.

I went to Target today with a LIST so I could get in and out without breaking the bank and what do I notice as soon as I walk in?! Target put out all new clothes and shoes. Why must you do this to me when I'm on a time restraint and you KNOW I can't look?! Thanks Target. Cutest dresses too! Guess I'll be going back in a day or so.

I think M and I are going to plan a fun trip to either Kings Dominion or Hershey Park soon. We both love roller coasters and haven't been to an amusement park in so long. Each are about 3 hours from me so we'd be staying the night. I just need a little getaway and I'll be fine :)

So because I have lots of random things to say,

this is going to be a bulleted post..

feel free to skip around if you'd like.

I'm typing just to type.

Tonight Big Brother 12 started. (Which I think will be a great season since there are lots of twists!) I was so into it last season that I decided to tune in this season as well. I went over my dad's to watch it because him and my step mom are huge fans. I really like spending time over there because I don't get to do it as often as I'd like. With working everyday and then trying to go to the gym and also seeing the bf, sometimes there just isn't enough time in the day. I do make that effort though to call a few times a week. It's just nice to see everyone. I really need to make more time for them before there isn't any and I regret not doing it.
I though that once summer came, I would be making a lot more money. But since my other boss (I work for 2 families) is on maternity leave for the ENTIRE summer, I'm only watching one child so I make less. I'm broke. I have no idea where my money goes. Honestly. I can't figure it out. Yes, I have bills to pay and stuff, but I haven't been shopping or anything like that. I also have my savings account but I refuse to touch that for something that isn't important. It's driving me carrazzzy too because I haven't been shopping in so so long and I really want to go but I can't spend money I don't have. Ughhh. And I want to buy the new Droid X when it comes out but I'm not quite sure how I'm going to.
I also thought that when summer came, I'd have more time for this blog. But since I'm working 4 days a week and I can't use the computer at work, I'm falling behind on posts and reader. I feel bad about it too because I really enjoy this community and getting to know some many wonderful people. Once I get home from the gym (if I don't go to M's) it's 7 PM and I still have to eat dinner, shower, pack my lunch, etc. and before I know it, I'm ready for bed. Sometimes I think about taking a blog break but I know I'd miss it too much. I need to find a solution. Do any of you have this problem?
My life during the week feels like the movie groundhog's day! Same thing over and over again. Wake up, go to work, go to the gym, see M, go to bed and do it ALL over again! AHH isn't summer supposed to be about fun?! Growing up stinks! When I was young, I had to decide whether I wanted to go swimming or ride my bike. Now I have no choice but to go to work. I don't like it one bit.
I reached 200 followers! This amazes me. I barely post yet people still think my once a week posts are interesting. You all are great! I am going to get around to a great giveaway! I PROMISE! Someone needs to hold me to this so I don't forget. I want to do something good for you girls since you're so loyal and continue to read. I love knowing that I have people across this country who can relate to so many things I say and that you're all just a blog post away :-)

Hey!

It was another hot, hot, hot weekend here in MD. I feel like the work week goes so quick and then the weekend is here and before I know it, back to work I go! I can't believe this weekend is the 4th of July. You girls have anything fun planned?! I'm still trying to figure out what is going on :-)

This Saturday M and I went to a Japanese steakhouse. Talk about delicious! We haven't been since last summer so this was definitely a treat :-) We were seated with 6 other girls and 1 guy and they were so friendly! Its always great to sit with welcoming and talkative people. Makes the experience much better :-)

Sunday, M and I went to the pool all day. It was hot out but the pool is right by the water so it felt cooler. For dinner, we went to a diner by my house that was also visited by Guy Fieri from the show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives that airs on the Food Network. The food is delicious! I mean it must be if he visited :-)

That night we watched the 2010 BET Awards. We love all kinds of music. This was actually a great awards show. Many different performers and Queen Latifah hosted and she was hilarious! Chris Brown did a Michael Jackson tribute which in my opinion, was so good, but then he broke down crying and couldn't finish singing "Man in the mirror". At first I thought it was all an act, but then the tears wouldn't stop! Did any of you catch this? BET has removed most of the videos so I'm not sure if Google will bring it up or not. Here's a link but I don't know if it'll work.

Any Pilates Do-ers Out There?

Hi! So yesterday on my weekly run to Target (I have a problem and maybe should seek out Target Shoppers Anonymous since I tend to spend much more money there then I should) I left with a new exercise dvd.

I bought this because it came with a band and was only $10! What a deal. I've never done pilates but I've heard great things about it. Today I tried it out. At first, I thought this DVD was too easy but by the time I did every part of it, I was sweating. My favorite was the Pilates for Abs and Total Body Pilates. It's great that each part is only 10 minutes long because there's no time for you to get bored! It really makes me look forward to doing it tomorrow morning. I just wanted to add something to the cardio I do. I also do weights but I'm always up for trying new things.

I know this probably won't give me the same results as compared to doing it in a pilates studio but I figured it will help tone my body and improve my flexibility (I need a lot of help here! haha)

Have any of you ever tried this pilates DVD or any at all?

If so, did you like it and did you see results from it?

Let me know! I don't want to waste my time :-)

Top 2 Tuesday - Reality TV!

This weeks top 2 are top 2 reality shows you would be on!

Love this show so much! I started watching it 2 or 3 seasons ago and quickly became addicted. It's even better that it's on 3 nights a week! Last summer M and I watched it together and we will again this summer. The challenges seem fun and living with complete strangers really broadens your mind about different things! It also doesn't hurt that there's a big money prize if you make it to the end :-)

I would love to be on the real world. I have been watching this show for as long as I can remember! Some of the seasons are terrible because the people chosen are just boring to watch but the drama is something I love haha. I think it would be cool to live with 7 different people from across the U.S and form friendships that way. The people on this show either seem to get along so well or can't stand each other at all. It's only for 3 months so I would definitely be able to do it :-)

Hey!

How's it going?

Hope you had a great weekend. The weekends always fly by so fast don't they? You work all week and look forward to the 2 days you have off and before you know it, it's back to work again.

Friday night I didn't do too much because I had to babysit for a friend who had a wedding to go to. By the time I got off, I was exhausted. Little boys seem more difficult to watch in my opinion. Always on the go! I'm used to watching little girls since I've been with the families I work for for almost 2 years.

Saturday I just hung out around the house until M and I got together. We decided to go play putt putt but only made it to the 7th hole because there were 5 groups in front of us and M was starving. Like tummy grumbling starving and it probably would have taken an hour & a half to finish the game. So we decided to leave and go eat. We came home around 11 and watch You, Me and Dupree, such a funny movie!

Sunday was of course Father's Day. M and I went to the pool for a little bit before heading over my aunt's to see my dad and attend a cookout. We had such a fun time! My aunt had a ton of food, snacks and drinks. She also organizes all of these fun little games for everyone to play. We played guess the tie where each dad submitted a tie and we had to guess who it belonged to, create a slogan for a picture, Scottish trade game which takes a while but is fun (if you want to know how to play, leave a comment asking because it takes a little while to explain lol) and then the jockey game. I'll explain this one. There are 6 players: Me, 3 of my cousins, step-sis, and cousins gf. We all were numbered 1-6. The people not playing had to pick a jockey based on the name but they don't know who the name belongs to. My name was Lickity Quick (M came up with it lol). So we all line up and a big die is rolled. If it lands on your number, you take a step forward with your horse. Who ever gets to the finish line first wins.. Wanna know who the winner was?

Hair.

I'm having a hair dilemma.

I read in Glamour Magazine the other day that I should only be washing my hair 2-3 times a week, TOPS!

I sort of knew this but only 3 times? Come on!

I go to the gym 4 times a week so right there, I'm washing my hair 4 times because I get really sweating and not washing it would just be gross and I would stink. I like to smell good thank you very much.

Also, I have the type of hair that likes to get greasy after one day.

I do not condition my roots or let the condition sit on my head for more than 30 seconds but my hair STILL continues to look limp and blah after not washing a day.

The only time I can get away with skipping washing is if I just had my hair freshly highlighted or I go the pony tail route which I don't mind because I could always wash my bangs and make it look presentable.

I've tried baby powder, and yes, it does work, but not for the entire day.

I've also tried dry shampoo but I forget the brand I used and I didn't see a difference in my hair what.so.ever.

I want to keep my hair healthy and washing, blow-drying and straightening all the time is damaging it so I need a solution.

Here's my question for you ladies:

If you're dealing with this, what are you solutions for not having greasy hair or what do you do to your hair so that you don't have to wash it every day?

Do you use dry shampoo? If so, what kind? Names of brands, please.

If you have perfect hair that's on your side and you only have to wash it 2 to 3 days a week, then I'm pretty much jealous of you but share your tips anyways.

Hi! Hope you ladies are doing well and had a fun weekend. I sure did. My camera has been dead so no pictures, AGAIN! I suck, I know. Sorry :-( M and I went out on his uncle's boat yesterday from 10-4 in 94 degree weather so I have a not very nice looking sunburn. It'll eventually turn to a tan. I guess applying SPF 30 every hour just doesn't work when the sun is in killer mode. It also doesn't help that I went out in the sun with really pale skin. I'm glad I don't have pictures to share with you because it looks as painful as it feels.

On to the weekly Tuesday Post.

This week is about guilty pleasures.

1. Shopping.

This may seem like a given to some but I kid you not, I get giddy over going shopping. Oh and if there's a sale going on, watch out cause I get really excited. Window shopping, online shopping, shopping where you fork over the money, etc. This is terrible, but if I'm in a sad, crappy, bad mood, all I need to do is going shopping and I'm happy again :-) It doesn't have to be a large or expensive item, it could be as simple as a new OPI nail polish. I know some of you are able to relate to this. RIGHT?!

2. Diet Soda.

I like Diet Pepsi if it's in a can or a bottle

Or Diet Coke if it's from the fountain.

Some people have to have their coffee, I need to have my diet soda. I only have one a day so I have it under control :-)

Just some thoughts that have been running through my mind:

1. I hate ironing. Now that M has to wear dress clothes to work, he ALWAYS asks me to iron because he says I do it better but I can't stand doing it! I'm not sure why but it's not something I enjoy. Thankfully he's starting to take all his dress shirts to the cleaners so I no longer have to do it.

2. Another thing I hate is when people don't think you for letting them over while driving. I mean is it really that hard to stick your hand out the window or raise an arm up showing thanks? Guess so. Rude people suck.

3. Do you ever get the hungries? What I mean by this is no matter what, you're hungry all day! You could eat your meal yet the hungry feeling never goes away. I hate hungry days, especially when I took a class at the gym anddd did extra cardio. Pointless if all I want to do is keep eating!

4. This is my 100th post! Wow, you'd think I'd come up with something better to talk about then random, unimportant things but, sorry, I can't think of anything. I'm shocked because I really didn't think I'd stick with the whole blog thing but what can I say? You ladies sucked me in and convinced me it's a good thing. Thanks for continuing to read about my oh-so-not-interesting-but-tries-her-best-to-convince-you-it's-interesting life. You're great :-)

5. On the topic of blogging, I'm in need of a majorrr revamping of this blog. The look I have going on now is terribly boring. Black and pink? Come on Brittany, I know you can do better than that! Do you girls know of any great people who do blog makeovers that don't cost an arm and a leg and are friendly and patient and don't mind picky people? If so, send me their blog links! I'd really appreciate it :-)

6. I love my dog, but sometimes she's just gross. Today while soaking up some rays, I brought her outside with me and as I'm relaxing, I look over and find her rolling around in dirt. Why she wants to get dirty is beyond me. Do your dogs ever sniff out a place in the yard and then continue to roll in it only to become dirty and stinky after wards? I should have just left her inside because then I had to bathe her and that's a whole workout in itself.

Do you wonder what it would be like to live somewhere completely opposite of where you do now?

I always do. I live in the suburbs. The closet beach resort is 3 hours away. The closest "country" get away is about 2 hours. The city on the other hand is 20 minutes. I was flipping through the TV channels today at work (I'm a nanny, I get to do this when O naps) & came across a channel called WealthTV. They were featuring islands in Bahamas & I fell in love. I was thinking, wow, I could live there and be so content, living on island time. When I'm at the beach, I NEVER want to come home! I'm not sure what it is, but I'm happiest there.

Or what about in the open country where you can walk on without having to worry about cars passing by quickly or where your closest neighbor is a mile or two away. You have your own place to escape all the time. Life is simple.

I know places likes this exist. They have to. I would just like to experience living somewhere, even for a day, other then HERE, where I live now.

Do you ever wonder what it would be like to have your divorced parents be together?

My parents divorced when I was 13 years old. I believe I took it better then most kids that age do. I knew I didn't want my parents to fight anymore; that they both deserved to be happy. But I was find myself wondering, WHAT IF? What if they were still married? What would life be like? I have a feeling that if they were still married, I wouldn't have experienced half the things I did. Most of my friends parents are divorced as well. It makes me so sad sometimes though, especially on holidays and birthdays. I feel like I'm always having to chose which place to go. I wonder where we would live, how I would look at relationships, how my trust in people would be different. I have a wonderful relationship with my mom and dad. They may have divorced each other, but didn't divorce my brother and I. They still stayed the parents they knew they had to be. I do admire how they handled the divorce because things could have been much worse. I just think of the song "The House That Built Me" because I moved away from that house after my parents divorced. I just sometimes wish my parents were together. But one great thing came from their divorce; my little half-brother B. He's 7 now (from my dad and step-mom) and he wouldn't be here if my parents stayed together.

I just have to remember I'll always have the memories of my family together. Change doesn't have to be bad or negative. Great things have come from this and will continue to and I know my parents are now happier.

I wonder about so many things:

- What would it be like if I had went away to school instead of staying home?

- How would things have turned out had I went to my home high school instead of a technical school in which you have to apply to?

- I wonder how life would be if M and I had never met. I'm so glad he's in my life but what if we never crossed paths? What would we both being doing now?
