Not sure I remember how to do this...

Well the last time I blogged, I talked about starting school. It's now July and school has been over for almost 2 months. I had such a wonderful semester! I met awesome new people and made Dean's list again (hey, it feels good when you do well!) It was a tough semester but I'm sure it'll seem like a piece of cake once this next semester starts (senior year). I'll be doing 2 full days of student teaching. I'm so used to co-teaching that I'm a nervous wreck to do it on my own! haha. No choice but to push through and do well!

So what have I been up to over the last 5 months?

In February, it was cold and winter was hanging around for a while. M and I celebrated Valentine's day with dinner.

March, crazy month with school so I don't think much fun was had, haha.

April, school was in full force (thank goodness for friends who are going through the same exact thing and keep you sane during it all!) We even got to take a trip to the aquarium (the joys of being an elem. ed major haha)

in the Australia house, so neat!

so many stingrays and sharks to see;
the coolest was the sawfish..
if you look close enough (on the left and going up),
you can see the nose of the fish that looks like a saw blade.

May - this month couldn't come soon enough. It was the end of the semester! Finals were intense but once they were over, I could breathe a sigh of relief!

Not sure why I don't have ANY pictures from May until now, but I'm sad about it! I didn't take pictures of my mom's or Matt's bday, the pictures that I took from when I went to the beach are on my broken phone (dropped it down the steps, but hey, now I have the white iPhone so it was worth it! haha), and no pics from the 4th of July. Waaa.

Fast forward to now - summer has been good so far.. I work everyday but I babysit and take the kiddos to the pool so it's fun :) I better enjoy it now while I can haha. Lately we've been under a MASSIVE heat wave though! I'm sure you girls down south can relate. I checked the weather on my phone today and saw this.. unbelievable: Look at the "FEELS LIKE" temp.. how is that possible in Maryland?! So gross.

School starts for me in a little more than 3 weeks (I start when the teachers do) so I'm trying to relax as much as I can.. I'm placed at a school that is 5 min from the bf's house so it's pretty convenient.

On another note, went to the doctor today for a check up and noticed that I have gained 5 lbs in a year! Wth?! This past year was stressful though. I need to get motivated and get back to where I was. Does anyone know of great workout dvd's? It's more convenient to work out at my house than drive 20 some min. to the gym (i do have a membership though, just completely out of the way)

Leaving tomorrow for the beach! I'll be back Monday though. Have a fun weekend :)

I hope ALL of you are doing well, enjoying summer (hopefully taking a vacay) and staying happy!

Summer is Over.

So summer is over, at least on my schedule. School started for me last Thursday. So far so good. I still have two classes that I need to attend tomorrow. Hopefully they'll go just as well. I start an internship on September 16, which just so happens to be my BIRTHDAY. I'm hoping I'll be placed in a 1st grade room. I'll find out in the coming days which grade I'll be interning in.

Didn't do too much this weekend. On Saturday, M and I went to a cook out during the day and then just hung out at my house on Saturday night. We're such parties I tell you. Sunday we went to this place on the water which is basically an in-ground pool with a bar. I didn't have to drive so I was able to indulge in some Orange Crushes aka one of my favorite drinks ;-) So yummy. These past couple of days have been so hot! I mean it's almost September and it's still in the 90's! (Today was 95, yuck)

I just thought I'd recap on some of the fun things I did this summer. However, I'm quite upset that M and I didn't go on a vacation together! We have the past 3 yrs but with him starting a new job, it just wasn't possible. Hopefully we can go somewhere this fall.

Speaking of fall, I signed up for a coed football team! Ahhh, basically, M made me do it haha. It's just 2 hand touch and it starts Saturday, 9/11. I'm nervous but I'm sure it'll be fun. The local bars sponsor us to play and as a treat, we get free happy hours there sometimes and drink specials :) There's about 12 people on each team so it'll be a good time!

Now onto my summer memories . . . (click on the links to go to the posts.)

End of May
M graduated - I honestly couldn't be more proud of him!
Not everyone graduates in 4 yrs and finds a job a month later.
We spent the night celebrating in Ocean City :)

June
Snuggles turned 3!
It might seem strange to celebrate my pups birthday but I love her :)

Celebrated my little step-sisters 16 birthday.
However, I'm a terrible person and didn't take one stinkin' picture!

We celebrated Father's Day and I won my first jockey race haha.
(a game we played there).

M and I went to our favorite, special restaurant to celebrate his new job.

July
We also went to plenty of baseball games! They're just so fun :)

I was able to go on vacation with my family! The last time they went was 5 yrs ago so I was super excited; even if it was only for 2 days.

Went to a soccer game at a football stadium :)

August
Went to my first football game ever.

I also did other fun things this month but I just didn't take pictures or blog about it. Other then that, I've been working.

I hope everyone had a great summer!

Now bring on the fall weather, football games, apple cider, pumpkins, hot chocolate, comfy clothes, warm fires, and pretty trees!

But winter, if you come early and rear your ugly head like you did last year, I will be one UNHAPPY girl! Stay far far away :)

Woo Hoo!

Well, I'm finally finished with spring semester! I can finally  b r e a t h e !
I have two of my grades so far - an A and a B (out of 4 classes) so that's
something to smile about :-) I'm so ready for summer to be here!

Speaking of school being over and summer arriving, I FINALLY have time to read the stack of books I've been wanting to! I couldn't read during the semester because I was forced by my professors to read boring nonsense!
(I had to take a folklore and literature class - terrible I tell you!)

Here are some of the books I have lined up to read:

I've already started reading this and I must say it's funny
but I wouldn't expect anything less from Ms. Handler :-)
I already read My Horizontal Life and loved it.
I'm hoping to finish this soon so I can start reading . . .

I'm hoping this book will be the best yet.
After I finish Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang,
I want to start reading . . .

I read the first book of Lauren's and it's a total chick lit book
(obvs. my favorite kind) so I feel I should read this one too since it's
a follow up to the first one. I think I may have to re-read the first book
though since I sort off forget what happened - it's been a while since I read it.

I bought this book a while ago and have yet to read it. I love Nicholas Sparks (sorry for those who don't!) and his books are always quick reads for me.
Since it's been sitting for quite sometime, I'm going to try to read it.

Last but not least, my friend let me borrow these books and insists that I MUST read them because they're so good. You know let know what you think:

If you've read any of books above, let me know what you think!
If you have any recommendations, share with me! :-)

Top 2 Tuesday - All about SUMMERTiME!

This weeks TOP 2 is: Top 2 favorite things about summer!
Forgive me now, but I cannot list only 2 favorite things about summer
so I'm going to list my top 5! Summer is my favorite time of year.

1. Going to the beach
As I've said before, I go to Ocean City at least once every summer. When I'm at the beach, I'm such a happy person. Laying on the beach and hearing the waves crash is so relaxing to me! I could stay there for hours, wearing SPF of course. I enjoy the night life there because they have outside bars/clubs and it's so different then being in a sweaty, loud bar. OC also has an endless amount of putt putt places & not to brag or anything, but I'm pretty good :-)

2. Cookouts
(google images)
During the summer, I attend many of these. On Sunday's, if its nice, my dad cooks on the grill and invites the family over. I love when we're all together. M & I also cook on the grill during the summer. I just think food tastes so much better when it's cooked that way :-)

3. 4th of July
(weheartit.com)
Since I was a little girl, I have LOVED the 4th of July. My mom & dad always took my brother & I to see fireworks. Sometimes we went with people from the neighborhood too. We would pack snacks and blankets and make a night out of it :-) The first year M & I started dating, we didn't go see fireworks. To say I was sad is an understatement. At the time, I don't think he understood how much I wanted to see them. I may seem "childish" for being upset about it but it's like a tradition to me. Luckily, the fireworks were showing all weekend and he surprised me with a trip to see them :-)

4. Driving with the sunroof open
and great music playing!
(weheartit.com)
When the sun is shining, there is nothing better than taking a drive with no destination (in a clean car of course lol) with the windows down, sunroof open, and good music playing! Sometimes I do this if I need to clear my head.

5. Summer Clothes!
The flip flops, wedges, sun dresses, shorts, tanks, bathing suits!
Gahhh, I love it all! It's so nice not to have to put on layers and layers of clothing just to go outside. I loathe winter! When I can leave the house in a pair of shorts, tank, and flip flops, I'm a happy girl :-)
(that's just a very random collection of clothes I put together lol)
summer fun

I like to dream.

I'm tired of hearing about the snow.
I'm tired of seeing snow.
I'm tired of talking about snow.
I'm tired of people acting like snow is the end of the world.
I'm tired of snow. Period.
I'm banning snow from my blog (for the time being
since we're getting another foot tonight so
I'm sure it may appear on my blog again)

Now, let's talk about better things :)
Like where I wish I was.

Turks & Caicos

on this beach.

lounging in one of these chairs.

wearing these 3 things

with one of these yummy drinks in my hand

reading this book.

and of course Singing this song...

"Want a towel on a chair in the sand by the sea
want to look thru my shades and see you there with me...
...The sun and the sand and a drink in my hand with no bottom
and no shoes, no shirt, no problems"

Summer get here, NOW!

If you could be anywhere right now, where would it be?!
I would love to know I'm not the only one with the winter blues.
