I'm terrible at thinking of titles so this post doesn't have one.

Hi! Hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day.

This weekend was super hot here. The temps were only in the 80's but the heat index was in the mid 90's. I was dying! I like the summer but not when I start sweating the second I walk out the door.

Friday was just a low-key day. I worked, met mom at the gym, grocery shopped and then relaxed all night with a good movie.

Saturday, I went to the gym again and then M came over around 5. We just hung out and then went to a local restaurant for a drink, appetizer and to finish watching the NBA playoffs.

Sunday was all about drinks and cooking out. M and I went to the gym together, then stopped at the liquor store for some drinks. I love Bud Light Lime in the summer time. We had to wait for the day to cool off before we could fire up the grill. It was so stinkin' hot out! Not even a breeze to cool us off. We grilled hamburgers and hot sausage, yum! We also had watermelon and strawberries; 2 of my favorite fruits.

Monday, Memorial Day, M and I went to the gym AGAIN (4 days in a row, on the weekend? Go me haha, I impressed myself!) My dad's neighborhood was having a "block party" that day so we decided to head over there around 4. Thank goodness for tents to give us shade! It was another hot, hot day.

I was terrible this weekend and did not take one picture. I'm pretty mad at myself! What's the point in having a camera if you don't use it?!

It's now June 1, Tuesday night at 10 and I'm wondering how time has flown by! Before I know it, it's going to be Christmas! Life needs to s - l - o - w down!

On to a new subject . . I have a question for you ladies:

Do your friends and family know you blog?
If so, how did you tell them?
If they don't know, why haven't you told them?

I feel like blogging is sometimes looked down on. Yes, it's a social networking site but the people were associating with, don't know us in real life. I can almost bet the 90% of your subscribers or followers, do not know you. I'm not saying anything is wrong with this because I'm so happy to "know" all of you. We can all relate in one way or another, but how do you go about telling people in your life that you talk to people you don't know on a daily basis? They would think I'm crazy haha. Sometimes, ok a lot of times, I win giveaways and since I still live at home, I feel like I'm always rushing to the mailbox before everyone else because I don't want my family to see my getting packages from random people. I blog because I find it much easier then keeping an actual journal. I like looking back and seeing what I did on a certain day. I may not spill my heart out on here, but I did just start blogging in January so I'm still trying to find my place on the blog. I'm not sure I want the people in my life to know I blog but I'm not sure I want to "hide" anything either. Ahhh, I'm stuck!

If you ladies could help me out in answering that question or
just leaving your thoughts in general, I'd appreciate it!

My mom follows my blog (I actually made one because I liked hers), as do a couple other family members and I link to my blog from Facebook, so some of my friends look at it sometimes. I don't like other people reading it just because I feel like it's kind of frivolous or self-indulgent to write about myself, and I don't worry much about what I write because I'm new to blogging too and haven't felt comfortable with venting/being blue in my posts. Knowing specific people are reading will definitely help me focus on the positives in my life and keep the negative stuff to myself. I hope this helps a bit!

My aunt and mom read my blog that I know of, but I've heard that other people that I know IRL read it but aren't public followers. My family that reads it publicly had a blog before me so it wasn't that big of a deal to tell them. Now, I always hear my mom telling people to go read my blog and since I share a lot of my wedding inspiration on here I told her to quit because I don't want everyone to know every detail of my big day before it's here, but I want to be able to look back at my planning once it's all done.

No one in my family reads my blog simply because they aren't too into blogs. My mom is seriously behind on the whole internet thing as a whole. But my boyfriends mom and sister read it, they're basically like family. As for friends, I posted a link to my blog on my facebook page so a handful of them read it now. The way I see it, I don't have anything I write on my blog I wouldn't want people close to me reading anyways so why not.

What a busy and fun weekend! Only my hubby knows about my blog. It's not that I keep my blog a secret...I just don't really talk about it with with friends and family. I just blog to journal our lives and things I like :) I'm sure I'll tell my mama about my blog sooner or later!

What a busy weekend you had. We are supposed to have our first 100 degree weather day this week! AHHH! My mom knows I blog. I sent it out in my Christmas card to people who I know would never read it. I always find it awkward when I know people read my blog!

Some of my friends read my blog, but none of my family does, as far as I know. I think my parents may think it's weird to be connecting with strangers from all different places. I love the "relationship" I have with my bloggy friends. I really do feel like I know some of them! :)

My family knows that I blog but they don't really take it too seriously. I don't think they follow my blog, and I'm okay with that. I know what you mean about it being looked down upon though... like it's just a silly hobby when it's really something I love to do!

My family and friends read my blog, but they dont have blogger and dont leave comments. I wish they did though!

I love blogging and well most my family knows, but they don't take it seriously like I do, some of them occasionally read but I dont think they're really followers... I get mail all the time and I dont really mine it, I have my own place, but I've told my mom, she thinks its interesting to connect with people.. Boyfriend at first thought it was weird, but enjoys it now...

All my friends and family know I blog. I am an open book.

NG hasn't read my blog yet, but he knows he was featured. I realized I wanted to keep him around when I told him, and he laughed! I told him he was quite the star... and I think I need to quit boosting his ego, its getting a little to big :)

I just never made it a big deal. I posted a link on my fb, and some of my family and friends followed it here. The worst thing was that I told all of you about NG before I told my IRL friends/family.. because it was easier and I was excited. My mom flipped on me! She said "You can tell your blog, but not me that you met a guy!" lol.. I promised her that I'll tell her first next time! :)

I think your family would love your blog!

I don't think I'd have an issue with my in real life peeps reading my blog- well, some of them. But, as it is, none of them are really into blogs. I'm not telling them my blog address, because I feel like I want to keep it private from them. Sometimes I have to get things off my chest and oddly enough- telling a "stranger" is just what I need. Make sense? lol.

Sounds like a perfect weekend!! It was so freakin hot!!

I am a private person in general so the only one who knows i have a blog is my husband and I've had it for 2 years almost. With that said, I've started and stopped and erased posts because I've been scared I was too personal or vented too much on a post, which leads me to debating if I should be private or just say hey, i have a blog- check it out, to all my friends.. All in all, I came to the conclusion that the reason I started this blog was to be able to clear my mind. Sometimes my mind doesn't always agree with all my friends (which is why I felt the want to even vent somewhere). I needed some place to go to just be me and not worry about what I said or if someone doesn't like it. I try to make a rule for myself even with no one knowing about my blog that just because i have the ability to write freely and say whatever I want, doesn't mean I should say EVERYTHING I want.I'm a shy writer and it's easier for me to really write something not knowing who my audience is. I think when I have kids I might open my blog up to family and friends, but in the mean time I enjoy it just being "my own little world".

Hope that helps!

I actually told everyone I knew that I was blogging because at first, the blog was just dedicated to the wedding. Though as you can see, I don't just stick to that topic, which I like. So I never really had the problem about telling people. However, I do get knocked on hard core for talking about blog friends and the friendships I have made on this blog world. I don't really care, they can say what they want. Somehow me make these weird connections and friendships on here and I absolutely love it!!

Some of my family members follow my blog, which means I'm a bit more censored than I'd like to be...and can't vent quite as much. I absolutely love the friendships I've made through blogging, it's odd how much you can know someone without actually meeting them. Blogging in theraputic, and it's nice to have a journal that actual gives advice back to you :)

when I told my mom she asked why people would want to read about my life haha! I guess some people dont get the whole blogging thing! Hope things start slowing down for you girl!

Girl, you are so busy!
My friends and family do know I blog because many of them also have blogs. My grandparents even read it sometimes! I don't really have anything to hide, and I wouldn't post anything over-dramatic or personal if I was ashamed for anyone to read it. However, I know that my more faithful readers are not always people I know in real life...

I've blogged since 2008 and I'm just now finally letting a lot of people know in my life that I blog. I've never hid the fact that I blog but I just hadn't volunteered that info.

It was SO humid this past weekend, so I completely know what you mean. I’m impressed that you went to the gym 4 days in a row. You’re so good! It sounds like you were able to spend some time with M and the family…so fun!

I can't believe that it's June either!

Sounds like a great weekend! Good for you for hitting the gym! I definitely didn't!

Good post Brittany! I'm with you on the camera situation.. I didn't take any photos either which is strange for me. Good girl going to the gym 4 days! I ran the pups on Saturday I thought Harley was going to pass out after 2 miles but he was going strong. I don't tell anyone that I blog either I like that it's my own little space for myself and I get to express myself. Nothing that I do have on my blog would make me shy away from telling people it's just something that I like to keep separate. I got away from FB by blogging and I really like it! Esp when I get to meet fun girls like you! It's like having pen pals like I'm sure we all had in our childhood.

You are a busy girl!! Hoping it slows down for you a bit! And your cookies will be on their way very soon :)

I have told my friends (A handful of them) and my family that I blog. I don't know who reads it. Although, just a few weeks ago, I ran into an old friend from highschool who said "I read your blog" (Yes, I made the mistake ONCE by putting it in my status on Facebook...)

I have nothing to hide on here and if people want to read it...they can, but I also don't pressure anyone into doing that!

For me, I find that a number of people I know are active in the blogging world as well, so I don't feel that it is looked down upon. My hubby finds it odd, but he also finds FB, Twitter, etc. odd. I have a few friends that are readers, but don't go around telling all my friends about my blog. I kind of like having my own little place to write out my thoughts/feelings and not worrying about which of my friends might see it.

My mom doesn't know about my blog. If she did, I wouldn't let her read it. At times I've talked about her and how she made me feel. Everything else in my blog is about personal details of my life and things to do with my boyfriend, that I don't want her knowing. Some of my friends know I blog, but I don't think they read it when I send them my link. I think they think, this is whatever. I have a few friends who blog, but they don't blog as regularly as I do. I wish they would though!

Vanessa said...

The only person who knows about my blog is my boyfriend. I enjoy being able to write what I want and make new friends through my blog. I enjoy not having the people I see often reading it. I'm friends with a lot of guys and they wouldn't be into blogging so I don't expect them to get what I'm going either. & I'm completely okay with that. 8)

I haven't told anyone. I like that I can say what I want to say without worrying that someone I know is reading it. And well, if they do stumble upon my blog, then that's fine, but I just don't want to volunteer it. I'm happy with this little bloggy world and I don't want a friend coming up to me at work and commenting on something I posted.

Blogging is a lot more accepted in the States than it is over here. So many people don't understand why I do it. Most of my friends and family know I blog, basically because I got into trouble with it on a previous blog and had people bullying me because of it in my work. I'm a bit more careful now about what I write (which is why I'm occasionally cryptic) but if someone asks for my blog url, I won't refuse them it. I don't really feel like I have anything to hide. And for ages my exes (who found it of their own accord) used to read it. (the joys of Statcounter...) Eventually they gave up. I don't bother anymore really.

Hey girl!!! Haven't talked to you in forever!! Sounds like you had a great weekend! I told everyone right when i started and by the time it picked up they don't really have time to read it, so it's perfect!!
