Hey you. Yes, YOU.

(weheartit.com)

Hi! I've noticed that I've had quite a few new followers friends!
Seeing this makes me happy but one thing does make me sad.
These new friends haven't left a comment or introduced themselves.

So we're going to play a fun little game!
(I'm crossing my fingers that you'll join in!)

I would be so happy if everyone who reads this post would
leave a comment with their name and one fun fact about them!
It can be something interesting about your home town,
your favorite food or place to shop. ANYTHING.
I just want to know who's reading my blog.

And if you know that I know who you are, play along anyway!
It never hurts to refresh my memory :-) lol

Thank you ladies so so much!
I can't wait to read all of the comments and
hopefully reply back to them.

As always, I appreciate you following my blog!
Hope you stick around for many more posts!

Top 2 Tuesday

This week's top 2 is:
2 Random Facts About Yourself.

1. I have two freckles on the inside of my right palm. I don't know many people who freckles on the inside of their palms, except for my brother, M, and my friend C. If you do have one, let me know :-)

2. I have went to Ocean City, MD every year during the summer since I was 2 years old. Even if I didn't go with family, I still went with friends. If I were to miss going one year, my summer would feel incomplete. It's almost a 2nd home to me. It's conveinent too because it's only 3 hours away.

What are 2 random things about you?

Mondays can be Fundays.

So what if it decided to be rainy and cold on this Monday.
So what if I only got 4 hours of sleep because I had achy legs from running.
So what if I had to be at work at 8 this morning which resulted in sitting in stopped traffic for over 20 mintues b/c people can't drive when it's raining.
I turned this crappy day into a happy day :-) After work, that is.

I decided to treat myself to a little pampering
instead of going to the gym. I needed a rest day.

A simple but classy manicure

Freshly painted toes :-)
If you're wondering why my feet look MUCH whiter than
my hand, it's because I took the pics in different lighting and
used a flash for my feet but not my hand lol it looks strange!

It was so relaxing to have someone showering my
little toesies some love. I know they've felt neglected
since it's been over 3 weeks since my last pedicure!

How do you pamper yourself?
Do you enjoy manicures/pedicures?
Did you have a good Monday?

Well would you look at that . . .

I have a button!

And guess what?
I made it all by myself!
I'm so proud :-) lol

Feel free to go to my sidebar and grab it!
If you grab it and add it to your blog,
let me know and I will be sure to add
your button to my side bar!

It's Sunday.. so you know what that means..

It's time to learn more about me with another edition of
Getting to Know You Sundayyy! Head over to Keely's blog
and join in on the fun!

The Questions . . .

1 - Why did you start blogging?
This is actually a strange reason.. I was googling something one day and came across a blog and then started looking at more blogs, and I was hooked. I wanted one of my own to document things and it just seemed interesting and fun. I'm so glad I started though because I have "met" so many amazing people!

2 - Who's the one blog friend that you would want to meet most in "real life"?
Honestly, I would love to meet all of you! You ladies are some of the most incredible, down to earth people I've ever talked to. Everyone is so encouraging and doesn't pass judgment. And there's always atleast one person who can relate to you. Don't forget that!
But if I HAD to chose, I would probably choose these 2 ladies:
Liz because she just gets me and helped me through a pretty confusing time; plus, she's such a positive person!
Allison because we've talked about it, she seems super fun to hang out with and plus we could workout together haha.
And of course.. mrs. Kelsey Claire, only so I can indulge in an alcoholic beverage, or 2, with her while sitting on a patio in TX and act way younger then we are :-)
Gosh, I really would like to meet so many more!

3 - Why are you always concerned with losing that "extra 10 pounds" when chances are your husband/boyfriend/friends tell you that you look just fine the way you are?
I don't lose weight for any man or anyone in my life except myself. It has to do with my self confidence and how I feel about myself. I chose not to associate myself with people who pass harsh judgments like that.

4 - What's the one thing you wish guys could understand about you?
Hmm, I think I'm a pretty straight forward girl so I don't think there is anything. I tell how I feel and what I want so I'm not too hard to figure out.

5 - Tattoos. How many do you have and how many are visible when you wear your "everyday" clothes?
I don't have any tattoos. I do want one though. I would probably get Snuggles paw print. She's my child :-)

6 - What was the best year of your life and why?
Very tough question because every year has something great that happened in it. But I guess I'll choose 2005 because it was the first year I was out of high school, 18 years old, and I can say it was one of the funnest years I can remember having.

7 - Name three things you would do if you were a man for one day.
Eat WHATEVER I wanted without having to worry how many calories I consumed, sit with my hands down my pants (cause that's what they do), and have selective hearing.

8 - What's your alcoholic drink of choice that usually raises a few eyebrows?
I wouldn't say it raises eye brows but my favorite drinks are Sangria and a cold beer :-)

And now I leave you with this furball of cuteness:
Don't mind her hair - She's going to the groomer soon!

Random Friday

Hi blog friends! Happy Friday to you :-)

Today, the little girl I nanny for wanted to make cupcakes. Now I do not consider myself a baker by any means. I can make great brownies and bake the cake (thanks to the directions on the back of the box), but when it comes to icing anything, I'm TERRIBLE. Thank goodness she only wanted to icing 6 of the cupcakes lol. Here's the final product. Please don't be harsh :-( I'm learning! My skills are no where near those of Kelly's. (She can decorate a cake or cookie like nobody I know! I'm jealous of your skills miss!)

Regardless of the way they look, they were delicious! I let her put the sprinkles on them so that's why some have way more then others lol. And we had fun baking them so that's all that matters. I love my job :-)

Speaking of nannies, did you hear about the incredible 22 yr old nanny who saved the 5 yr old boy from the burning house? Talk about being a hero. The little boy was not hurt but the nanny did suffer burns. Read the article here.

Tonight, I'm having a "me" night. A night where I relax, worry about nothing, watch a movie and just enjoy time by myself. I enjoy these nights. During the week I'm at work with two crazy, but wonderful little girls, school, and I feel like I'm missing quiet right now lol. The bf is at school and since I work again tomorrow night, I couldn't go see him this weekend. It's the perfect night for a "me" night. Plus, the weather is crappy right now. Cold (45* and rainy).

(pic found here)
atleast tonight anyway!

Do you enjoy "me" time? If so, what do you during that time? Or how do you relax in general? Any fun plans for the weekend?

My Grandparents.

For some reason, last night before I went to sleep, I was thinking about my grandparents. I'm not sure what made them pop into my head but I thought about them for atleast 30 minutes before I went to sleep.

Let me introduce them first before I tell you the reason for this post.
This is me and my mommom on Christmas in 2008. I swear to you, she is a saint; an angel sent from Heaven. This woman does not have a mean/bad bone in her body. I truly look up to her. I would be beyond devistated if something were to ever happen to her. I may not get to see her as often as I'd like, but I know she is always just a phone call away. My parents & I lived with her my first 3 yrs of life. She is also one of the very few people who ever babysat me. Every New Year's Eve when I was little, my brother & I would go spend the night with her and my grandpop while my parents went out to celebrate. I always looked forward to it because she would buy us our favorite snacks and noise makers. I believe the world needs more people like her.

(sorry for the terrible pic - I took a picture of this picture with my cell phone)
This is me and my poppy (my mommom's husband). Why isn't he smiling? Well my grandmom is next to me and she was smiling like I am so we just decided to keep the pic lol. My poppy is quite the character. He is a 21 year old stuck in a 67 year old's body lol. He hates that he is getting old and always wants to have fun. On holidays, he will stand and talk to M the whole time while having a drink and telling old stories. He is always joking around and laughing. He is a great man. My mommom and poppy have been together since they were 16 yrs old. He was her first everything. I think it's so sweet.

This me and my poppop. Do you love the faded jeans and snow boots? How stylish was I?! This pic is from 1991 so I am approximately 4 yrs old here. I love this picture of us so this is why I'm showing this one instead of a more recent one. God bless this man, seriously. His wife, and my other mommom, passed away when I was 6 yrs old. Devistation is not even the right word to use to describe his feelings. He was with her for over 35 years. She passed of a stroke. Sadly, I didn't know her very well. Like most people though, he moved on with his life and married again. He married again when I was 13 years old. Here comes more terrible news; she passed away January 2007. If that's not bad luck, I'm not quite sure what you call it. Two years after that, his mother passed away. So all he has is my dad and grandchildren. He's been through a lot and it has changed him. I understand though and I have no hard feelings about it because I'm not quite sure I could survive through all of that.

Now, the reason for this post is that I feel as though I have been sucking in the granddaughter department. I am the first born and ONLY granddaughter. I feel as though I should be calling and visiting more. I work over 30 hours a week though and go to school full time so it's hard to visit. Here's comes my brilliant and fun/memorable idea..

I was thinking of writing a letter to my mommom & poppy and one to my poppop. The thing is though, I would tell them that they have to write back and cannot call. I would like our letters to go back and fourth. I feel as though it would be a great way to stay "in the know" with them and I would be able to keep these letters forever.

What do you think of this idea? - Are you close with your grandparents? - How do you stay in touch with them? - Any other ideas for me?

I'm joining in on the fun - Top 2 Tuesday

This is my first time doing this!
I'm not sure what took me so long to join in.

This week's Top 2 is 2 things you can't live without.
(It's obvious I can't live without family, friends, bf, or my snugs)
So I'm going to take the materialistic route.

1. I can't live without chapstick.

I love both of these. I use it in the morning, anytime after I brush my teeth,
before I go to bed, basically throughout the day. I'm obsessed and my lips feel completely naked without wearing it.

2. I can't live without my car.

Not my car, but I have the exact same one.
As silly as this sounds, my car is something I need. It takes me to work, school, fun outtings, everywhere. I can't imagine depening on someone for rides or having to wait for public transportation. It gives me freedom and allows me to go wherever I want. I've been driving for so long now I can't imagine not doing it.

Getting to know you & weekend recap.

It's that time of the week again . ..
Head over to Mannland's blog
and join in on the fun!

The Questions..

1. What year did you graduate high school?
2004

2. What part of your body do you neglect the most?
My feet/toes especially during the winter months but not anymore since spring is here! I'm getting another pedi on Tuesday ;-)

3. Beach house or Lake house?
Beach house for sure.

4. Mac or PC?
I have a PC but I really would like this:
(macbook pro)

5. Did you wear braces?
Nope, never :-)

6. If you could be one person for a day, living or deceased, who would you be?
To be honest, this might sound strange, but I would like to be someone who lived during the roaring 20's because I think it was such a cool time period. The style and attitudes just seem so carefree.

7. How many times have you moved in your life?
Hmm, I believe I've moved 5 times.

8. Would you rather cook or clean?
I'm not the best cook but I can clean like it's my job.
I'm the queen at organizing as well so I'd rather clean.

Weekend Recap:

So my weekend was fantastic. The weather was gorgeous; the sun was shining and the temp. was in the 70's! I was happy being outide.

On Friday, I got off work early which is always a plus. That night, M & I went downtown for his friend's birthday to a place that is inside & outside. It was a pretty good time. Before we left though, I was hungry so I was bad and got McDonald's :-( I felt so guilty the next day lol.

Saturday, M & I went to my boss's house for a cookout. Since M is graduating soon, her husband is trying to get M a job at his workplace. He works for an awesome company. Everyone got along so well; I was happy. We stayed for a while and then came home to nap. That night, M & I went to a local bar that has seating outside for some drinks & appetizers. I love sitting outside on a beautiful night! Then we came home to watch the games. (Sorry Kansas fans! I was shocked by the loss).

Today is the last day of spring break :-( I don't want to go back to school. Even though I didn't go away for break, I couldn't have asked for better weather or a better week. Since M was going back to school today, we went to his house to watch the MD game (great game by the way, they were so close to winning!) and just hung out until it was time for him to leave. I'm going to miss him but he'll be home again for Easter though.

Sorry for the long post! Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend :-)

Happy Thursday.

Hope you ladies had a good St. Patty's day :-)

It was beautiful here, about 68 degrees, so I did!
Here's a pic of M and I from last night:
His shirt made me laugh - Under Lucky Charms,
it said magically delicious lol. And don't worry,
I had a bright green tank under my shirt :-)

Last night, so many people were wearing their green.
Some were decked out from head to toe and others
were even wearing their kilts. I was impressed lol.

Today was beautiful AGAIN. I could really get used to this.
It was sunny, 70, with a nice breeze. Absolutely perfect!

After M went home, Snugs and I decided to go to the car
wash and then head to the park for a walk & to play some ball.
I love this park. It has a mile trial that is marked in
10th increments, such as 1/10 of a mile to let
you know how far you have walked. I made Snugs
walk 3 miles lol. She sure can keep up though :-)

She's such a ham lol. She loves to have her pic taken.
She also loves making friends there.
There's atleast 5 dogs there at a time.

Did you enjoy your Thursday?

I'm Alive!!

Ok, I never thought I would miss blogging like I did this past week. I feel like a part of me was missing lol. I had not one spair second to write a post or comment though. I really do apologize.

Incase this doesn't make you forgive me,
here's this:

lots of yummy cupcakes!

So as you know, last week was mid-term week, which is why I was MIA. I didn't get grades back yet so I'm not sure how I did. I hate waiting though! This week is spring break. It doesn't feel like much of a break though because I still have to work and my teachers seem to think that even though you aren't in school, you should still have work to do. I have 3 papers due next week. I see another week of little to no blogging coming :-( I just want school to be over with!

I am.. While I love checking the mail, I don't always get items to get excited about. It's usually junk mail or the dreadful bills. But yesterday, I received some goodies! The lovely Brittany held a giveaway a while ago for a $50 giftcard to LuLu*s and I won! I'm not big on buying clothes online because I don't always wear the same size. Clothes are all cut differently. But I do love buying accessories on there. This is what I bought so far:

This is a longer necklace.     This is a pretty bangle. It goes
It's much prettier in person     with so many clothing options!

do you like my choices? or no? lol
THANK YOU BRITTANY! xo

I also received this in the mail:
That is the Ga on Cosmo!
It seems like a total out of control sex magazine lol
but the cover is WAY worse then what's inside.
I can't wait to read about her though.

So tomorrow is St. Patty's day.
Are you ladies doing anything fun for it?
I think M and I are going to a local place for
some great food and $1 beers. Can't beat that!

How have you all been?! Good I hope.
I will be catching up on the 500+ blogs that I
haven't read today and tonight.

Have an AMAZING day!

Friday, March 12, 2010

So so sorry :-(

Ladies, I apologize for my lack of blogging and commenting!
I haven't checked google reader in 3 days.
That is so unlike me! I feel out of the loop :-(

Studying & mid-terms have consumed my life this past week.
I'm so glad they're over and I can relax now!

I hope we're still friends!
I miss you all and I promise to get back to blogging
and commenting this weekend!

Hope everyone has had an awesome week!
Leave a comment so I know we're still friends :-)

Lots of Love

P.S - My fellow GaGa lovers out there, have you seen the new video for "Telephone"? I saw it premiere last night on E! News.. insane lol. I would expect nothing less from her though. Let me know what you think.
