Oh, my head.

Hi Ladies. Hope you're having a good week so far!

I don't think I've ever mentioned it, but I swear I suffer from migraines.
I've been seen by my doctor quite a few times and received prescriptions but nothing seems to take the pain away. I usually take excedrin for regular headaches but that doesn't help with migraines.

Symptoms of migraines:

  • Moderate to severe pain. May be confined to one or both sides of head

  • Head pain with a pulsating or throbbing quality

  • Pain that worsens with physical activity

  • Pain that interferes with your regular activities

  • Nausea with or without vomiting

  • Sensitivity to light and sound
(That's how I feel - and No, I don't know this lady lol)

I have 5 out of 6 of these symptoms when my migraine comes.
Especially the nausea. It's terrible.

So since meds don't help me, I'm turning to you ladies.
Do any of you have this problem?
If so, what do you do to help the problem?
Any home remedies?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you ♥

Ouch.

Fortunately I've never had a migraine so I can't help you out here, but hope someone will have a decent cure for you.

Feel better soon. :) x

Ohhh, I have migraines a lot too :-( I haven't gone to a doctor yet... but Excedrin migraine relief helps me (the rapid caffeine in the pills), a bunch of water, a little bit of something salty, and a nap. I hope you feel better! Migraines are NO fun!!! :-(

I hope you get to feeling better soon! I have never had migraines or headaches for that matter, but my boyfriend, Nate, does. I can definately tell from his pain that it is no fun.

Migranes are no fun! I get constant mild ones the whole week of my period (TMI probably, I know) and they are miserable! The only thing that helps is taking Excedrin Migrane and a nap! :)

To make us even more twinsies, I suffer from migraines as well. Literally, a migraine completely cripples me and I basically just have to go to sleep.

boooo! i'm so sorry you're having to suffer like this. i don't get "real" migraines often but when i do, i'm pretty much bedridden for the day and throwing up. (gross, sorry. haha)

i don't have any remedies, though i wish i did. certain foods and/or environments can trigger migraines in some people, so maybe if you can figure out the cause?

i really hope they get better, hun!

I have heard that a chiropractor can do miracles with headaches.

oh lady, i used to get them really really bad...before i got my eyes checked. ever since i got glasses, i haven't had as many. excedrin migraine and sleep was the only way to get rid of them for me :(

my sister suffers from migraines very often, and she has tried everything too...when she gets them bad, she just tries to sleep it off, and sometimes a little caffeine!

oh no :( migraines are the worst!!
i can not figure out anything to make the pain stop except sleep. it makes work days horrible! caffeine and excedrin used to help but not anymore.
thankfully i don't suffer from them often.
i hope you can find something that works for you.

I get these sometimes too. I always just eat a chocolate bar, drink a mountain dew or any other drink with a ton of caffeine, and take some excederin. I hope you feel better soon!

Try heat or cold - one of those bean bag heat contraptions that you can stick in the microwave or a really cold wash cloth. The difference in temperature might help to relieve some pressure.

Just stumbled across your blog - absolutely love it! :)

I don't suffer from them but my daughter does (15). She has one maybe every couple of months. Her remedy is just going to bed and sleeping it off.

I have gotten migraines my whole life, i get them so bad I have injections that I give myself and I also see a neurologist for them about 1 time a year.

They suck ass and I am so sorry you are going through this. I can totally relate to the nausea thats the WORST part is barfing in a dime (I barf nearly every time TMI)

Anyways things that have worked for me other than an injection is

Tylenol with codiene, water, sleep

Good luck

I have also had acupuncture for prevention and that worked AWESOME however it was so strange to have needles stuck almost in my eyeballs but if you can get over that it may work for you?

Sorry I totally forgot triggers.

Stay away from WINE, and alcohol MAJOR triggers in migraines, also bold cheese and life sucks CHOCOLATE!

sounds terrible! I am sorry to hear that you are going through such terrible migraines! I've never had one, so unfortunately I would be a lousy person for advice (aside from meds) but I hope things get better for you this week!

Aww! I missed that you were feel crappy! You know my remedy: SLEEP haha. I like heating pads too, but that's mostly for my back. All I can do is sleep now.

You and I = pitiful

XOXO

I had them for years and scrips never helped. The only thing that did was lying down in the dark with a cold wet washcloth over my head and eyes. I'm so sorry. I did eventually grow out of them for the most part. I hope you do too!

Aw man headaches are the worst! I get about half of those symptoms, but I also get really dizzy and sometimes things feel like they are in slow motion. Unfortunately no pain medicine works for me. I can literally take viccodine and it doesn't do anything to me. My neurologist has tried everything!

My mom gets migraines too and she gets botox shots every three months. It really helps her! It's just really expensive so it's beneficial to have good insurance...which I don't have.
